Grenada’s Maritime Heritage

Built by Hand.
Kept Alive by Sailing.

For more than two centuries, wooden sloops have connected Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. Built by hand and launched through traditions shared across generations, these vessels carry the resilience, ingenuity and identity of an island people.

Every Savvy charter helps keep that living heritage visible, valued and afloat.

A Life Shaped by Sailing

Danny Donelan first fell in love with Savvy after witnessing the sloop’s launch in Petite Martinique. What began as a passion pursued outside corporate life became a commitment to sharing Grenada’s coastline while helping preserve a culture built around wooden boats, local knowledge and the sea.

“Keeping the tradition alive is what makes us different and unique as a people.”
